French shipbuilder Naval Group has floated out the future ARA Storni, one of four Gowind-class patrol vessels ordered by the Argentine Navy.

Like its sisters, the vessel will measure 87 metres long and displace approximately 1,650 tonnes once completed. It will have a maximum speed of 20 knots and a range of 7,000 nautical miles.

Equipment will include Naval Group’s proprietary tactical data link system and deck facilities for launching and recovering two nine-metre fast boats.

Naval Group expects to deliver the future Storni to Argentina by October 2021.
