Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant has begun conducting builder’s trials of the future Russian Navy minesweeper Yakov Balyaev.

The trials will be conducted over a period of one and a half months and will test the ship’s propulsion and other onboard systems.

The future Yakov Balyaev will be assigned to the Russian Pacific Fleet upon delivery later this year. It is the fourth ship to be built under the Project 12700 series of minesweepers, otherwise known as the Alexandrit-class.
