United Shipbuilding Corporation’s (USC) Severnaya Verf has begun the final series of builder’s trials for the frigate Admiral Flota Kasatonov (pictured).

The trials are expected to last until December of this year, after which the vessel will be handed over to the Russian Navy’s Northern Fleet.

The second ship under Project 22350, also known as the Admiral Gorshkov-class, Admiral Flota Kasatonov will be utilised primarily for anti-surface warfare (ASuW), anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-air warfare, and fleet defence against anti-ship missiles.

Severnaya Verf has also commenced the final series of builder’s trials for the corvette Gremyashchiy. The trials will be conducted over the span of three months in the Baltic Sea.

The corvette is scheduled to be handed over to the Russian Navy in December for acceptance tests.

Gremyashchiy is the lead ship under the Project 20385 series of guided-missile corvettes. It is slated to enter service with the Russian Pacific Fleet.
