Italian shipyard Fincantieri and Spanish defence firm Navantia have agreed to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding collaboration in exploring vessel newbuilding opportunities that will benefit the Italian and Spanish Navies.

The projects in which the partners will collaborate will also include the development of future destroyers and other naval platforms that will be part of the future European Defence Force.

Navantia and Fincantieri are already collaborating in the European Patrol Corvette (EPC) program together with the Naval Group of France.
