JERA, Shimizu to collaborate on offshore wind projects

Japanese firms JERA and Shimizu Corporation have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) concerning collaboration in the offshore wind power generation business.

Based on the MOU, both companies will prepare for Japanese government-conducted public tenders related to the development of offshore wind power projects in Akita Prefecture and elsewhere in Japan.

JERA and Shimizu will also continue to search for suitable locations for future offshore wind farms and evaluate technologies with the goal of further project development.
