Russian fisheries research institute orders vessels from local builder

The Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography has placed an order for two Project 17050 research vessels from local builder Nevsky Shipyard.

The vessels will each have a length of 54 metres, a beam of 13.6 metres, a draught of six metres, a speed of 14 knots, an endurance of 20 days, and space for 26 crew.

Onboard facilities will include multiple laboratories and monitoring stations that collect and integrate sensor data.
