German Navy gets additional minehunting UUVs

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) has delivered a batch of newbuild Remus 100 unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) to the German Navy.

The UUVs have an endurance of 12 hours and will be used to expand the navy’s current fleet of Remus 100 UUVs optimised for mine countermeasures (MCM) operations.

Secondary functions will include area search, debris field mapping, and topographic ocean floor mapping in water down to 100 metres.
