Windcat floats second wind farm operations vessel

Windcat Workboats has launched Windcat 41, the second vessel in its MK3.5 series, for operations and maintenance activities on the Ormonde offshore wind farm.

Designed by Pete Melvin to carry 26 technicians and developed in co-operation with Servogear, the 23-metre vessel has two 720kW engines that reach a top speed of 31 knots.

Operating out of Barrow in England, the vessel is built to the latest rules and regulations for international projects.

Managing Director Neil Clarkson said the first vessel in the series is working at a German windfarm.
