BS wind farm service vessel named

Bernhard Schulte Offshore has named its new offshore wind farm service support vessel the ‘Windea la Cour’ in Hamburg, Germany.

The vessel will work at the Gemini wind farm in the Netherlands for Siemens Wind Power Service to assist the production of energy from 150 wind turbines.

The vessel will function as a platform for wind farm operations and maintenance support, technician accommodation and transport, and the provision of exceptional levels of safe reliable access to installations offshore.

The vessel is the first of two built in Norway that Bernhard Schulte Offshore will deliver to Siemens.

The ‘le Cour’ is 88 metres long and 18 metres in beam. It has an operational speed of 13.5 knots, accommodation for 60 people and is equipped with a motion compensated gangway system to transfer technicians to the wind turbine.
