Sanmar delivers third 29-metre tug for Svitzer’s Sohar Port operations

Sanmar Shipyards has delivered the final unit in a series of three tugs ordered by Svitzer for use at the Port of Sohar in Oman.

Svitzer Saham will join four other Robert Allan Ltd-designed tugs, including near identical sisters Svitzer Sohar and Svitzer Shinas, in fulfilling a 15-year port services contract awarded in 2019.

The newbuild has an LOA of 29.4 metres, a moulded beam of 13.3 metres, a draught of six metres, and two Caterpillar 3516C 2,525kW main engines that deliver a bollard pull of 80 tonnes.
