Nemeca Z, a towage and salvage company operating out of Greece’s Port of Piraeus, recently took delivery of a new harbour tug from Turkish builder Med Marine.

The Robert Allan Ltd-designed Dias Z has a length of 25.2 metres, a beam of 12 metres, a depth of 4.6 metres, a draught of 5.75 metres, and accommodations for seven crewmembers. The propulsion delivers a bollard pull of 75 tonnes and a speed of 11 knots.

The tug is intended to work off a forward winch for ship handling, towing, pushing, and mooring, and it is also equipped with an aft towing hook.

Secondary duties will include external firefighting thanks to the installation of Fifi1 equipment.

As with the other tugs in the current Nemeca Z fleet, Dias Z was built in compliance to RINA class rules and will serve clients at the ports of Piraeus and Thessaloniki.
