Saudi Arabia-based offshore support vessel (OSV) operator Jana Marine Services (JMS) has taken delivery of a new crewboat built by Grandweld Shipyards in the UAE.

JMS said the custom-built Jana-19 is engineered for optimal fuel efficiency, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising on performance. An advanced propulsion system and a streamlined design contribute to reduced fuel consumption and lower carbon emissions.

The Bahraini-flagged crewboat has an LOA of 42 metres, a beam of seven metres, a draught of 4.7 metres, a gross tonnage of 300, a summer deadweight of 100, a total fuel tank capacity of 120 cubic metres, seating for 135 technicians, and space for cargo including those cleared under the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) code.

The occupants are housed in a spacious and ergonomically designed interior that provides a comfortable and relaxing environment during transit. The accommodation areas have been configured to be wider compared to those on an earlier crewboat series that was also built by Grandweld.

The vessel is designed to adapt to various marine environments and operational requirements. Its enhanced manoeuvrability helps facilitate transfer operations even under challenging conditions, guaranteeing seamless crew transfers and minimal downtime.

To satisfy the unique needs of each of its clients, JMS also offers customisation options to tailor the crewboat to specific requirements. Modifications can include rearrangement of the seating configuration and installation of additional facilities.

The vessel also comes with Clean Ship Notation and is fitted with an array of lifesaving equipment that includes an automated man overboard recovery system.

Jana-19 is one in a series of five crewboats that Grandweld is building for JMS.
