Russian Navy’s third Borei-A-class submarine floated out

Russian shipbuilder Sevmash launched a new nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine into the water on Saturday, December 25.

The future Generalissimus Suvorov is the third submarine to be built under Project 955A, otherwise known as the Borei-A-class.

The vessel honours Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov, a famed army officer and prince of the Russian Empire during the late 1700s.

The submarine is scheduled for commissioning in December 2022. It will operate as part of the Russian Pacific Fleet.
