Germany’s Blue Fin Shipping orders four more combination carriers from Dutch builder

German shipowner Blue Fin Shipping has ordered four cargo vessels in a series from the Damen Shipyards Group of the Netherlands.

The 38-metre vessels will operate on European shortsea routes transporting a diverse range of cargo such as steel, woodpulp, grain, and fertiliser either in bulk or in large bags.

The four vessels will join two earlier sisters that are already in operation with Blue Fin. Delivery of the third and fourth ships in the series is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022 while the final two vessels will be handed over in the third quarter of 2023.
