Van Oord’s newest LNG-fueled dredger launched in Singapore

Van Oord’s newest trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) was recently launched in Singapore.

Vox Alexia is the final one of three LNG-fueled TSHDs that are currently being built at Keppel Offshore and Marine (Keppel O&M). Van Oord expects all three dredgers will be operational by 2023.

Once completed, Vox Alexia will have a suction pipe with submerged e-driven dredge pump, two shore discharge dredge pumps, five bottom doors, and a total installed power of 14,500 kW. Accommodations will be available for 22 personnel.
