GEAR | New electric outboard promises improved performance, easier transportability

Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation, will soon unveil a new range of electric outboard motors optimised for small, “launch-anywhere” boats.

Mercury Marine said the motors under the company’s Avator range will be quiet, smooth, and easy to operate with zero direct emissions and minimal maintenance.

Each unit will feature portable, quick-charging batteries and compact construction to ensure easy transport even without the use of a trailer or any other tow vehicle.
