Brodosplit cuts steel for four new Croatian Navy patrol boats

Croatia’s Brodosplit has cut the first steel for four new patrol boats slated for operation by the country’s navy.

Each patrol boat will have a length of 43.16 metres, a beam of eight metres, and two 2,525kW engines that will deliver a speed of 29 knots. Armament will include one 30-millimetre cannon, two 12.7-millimetre machine guns, and man-portable surface-to-air missiles.

The vessels will be capable of operating up to sea state four and will also have deck space for one seven-metre rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB).

These will be the second through fifth Omiš-class patrol boats that Brodosplit will build for the Croatian Navy. Missions will include maritime security patrols and fisheries protection patrols.
