Naming ceremony held for U-Ming’s newest VLOC
U-Ming Marine Transport Corporation, through fully-owned subsidiary U-Ming Marine Transport Singapore, recently held a virtual naming ceremony for its newest very large ore carrier (VLOC).
The 325,000DWT Grand Wisdom is the second vessel in a series ordered by U-Ming from China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation’s (CSIC) Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry. Its main engine is designed to be modified for LNG dual-fuel operation in future.
The vessel will be used to transport Brazilian iron ore to China under a 25-year charter with Vale.
