Naming ceremony for Bossa Nova

Grupo CBO has held the naming ceremony for its anchor-handling tug supply vessel Bossa Nova at the Oceana Shipyard in Itajai, Brazil.

Bossa Nova is the first of four Havyard-designed vessels to be delivered to the group. The vessel design was specially adapted due to the large water depths off the coast of Brazil.

According to the designer, they require more equipment, buoys and anchors on deck than the smaller, 18-metre-wide vessels used in the North Sea.

The changes allow more space on the deck for equipment, and a large side-by-side winch that enables safe and efficient towing and other anchor-handling services for mobile offshore installations.

Bossa Nova is on its way to Rio de Janeiro to complete its final tests.
