UK’s Port of Milford Haven orders new pilot boat

The Port of Milford Haven in the UK has awarded Netherlands-based Next Generation Shipyards (NG Shipyards) a contract for the construction of a new pilot boat to supplement its existing fleet.

The boat will be designed by UK-based Camarc Design. Key features will include a double chine hull, self-righting ability, and an ergonomically designed wheelhouse and crew facilities.

An IMO Tier III-compliant engine will drive waterjets to propel the boat to speeds in excess of 25 knots at full load.

Delivery of the new pilot boat is scheduled for 2025.
