UK-based unmanned systems specialist the Kraken Technology Group and software company Auterion have formed a partnership with the aim of developing autonomous capabilities for use in maritime security vessels optimised for littoral waters.

The partnership is focused around the development and implementation of modular, low-cost autonomy software and unmanned vehicle systems for the maritime domain.

The agreement will initially focus on integrated autonomy architecture for two of Kraken’s uncrewed platforms. Some of Auterion’s proprietary apps have already been developed and integrated into a Kraken 7.5-metre unmanned surface vehicle (USV), which is currently undergoing open water sea trials.
