Norway’s Knester orders seiner/trawler from Danish yard

Norwegian fishing company Knester has selected Denmark’s Karstensens Skibsværft for the construction of a new purse seiner/trawler.

The vessel, which will also be named Knester, will measure 75.2 by 15.5 metres and will be powered by a Bergen 5,400kW main engine. Equipment will include Karmøy winches and RSW tanks from Frio Nordica.

The newbuilding will replace a 2007-built vessel in the owner’s fleet. Delivery is scheduled for February 2024.
