Damen releases new tug designs

On June 25, Damen introduced its next generation of ship-handling tugs designs.

The series is composed of a mix of new designs and upgrades of existing designs.

Along with the previously revealed new RSD Tug design, a 70-tonne-bollard-pull tug specialising in compact agility in harbor towage, Damen has also unveiled four new ASD tug designs.

The new range of tugs offer bollard pulls ranging from 60 to 80 tonnes.

One of the new tugs offers six-person accommodation and aft deck area of 54m² and, another offers 10-person accommodation with an aft deck area of 82m².

The other two released designs are upgraded versions of previous designs.

Damen has also utilised a modular marine NO_x reduction system to enable compliance with IMO Tier III regulations.
