Evergreen orders 20 container ships
Taiwanese liner operator Evergreen Line has announced a major fleet upgrade with the acquisition of 20 11,000TEU container ships.
Eight of the ships will be newbuilds, while the other 12 will be on long-term bareboat charter.
It is unclear if the charter vessels were also newbuilds.
“With the delivery of the new ships, Evergreen will redeliver older chartered vessels upon expiry of their charter periods,” the company said.
