CalMac Ferries has set the middle of June 2022 as the start of operational sailings of the recently acquired Ro-Pax vessel Loch Frisa.

Formerly owned by Norwegian operator Norled, under which it sailed as Utne, the vessel recently completed successful trials and is now at Oban undergoing detailed familiarisation and entry-in-to service activities.

Loch Frisa will progressively be phased into CalMac’s Oban-Craignure timetable, in tandem with Coruisk. Once Loch Frisa takes over the full Coruisk timetable, the latter ferry will reposition to Mallaig where it will deliver services on the Mallaig-Armadale route.
