Turkey’s Sanmar wins repeat tug orders from local operator
Turkey’s Sanmar Shipyard has won an order for two tugs from local towage company Arpas.
The 2003-built, 30-tonne bollard pull Nehir and the 2020-built, 50-tonne bollard pull Sirapinar XVI (pictured), which has been renamed Arpas 15, were designed by Robert Allan Ltd.
Nehir has been operating with Sanmar’s own towage fleet since its completion.
The two tugs will operate along Arpas’ other vessels in Iskenderun Bay on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. These are the fourth and fifth Sanmar-built tugs to be acquired by the same operator.
