Bibby Marine Services has placed an order for a new service operation vessel (SOV) to be built by Spain’s Astilleros Gondan.

The SOV will be equipped with an advanced battery system and dual-fuel methanol engines, ensuring emissions-free operations. Featuring high-voltage offshore charging facilities, the vessel will be able to operate solely on battery power for over 16 hours between charges.

The vessel will also feature advanced mission equipment, spacious insulated storage, climate-controlled electrical stores, and well-appointed living spaces and communal areas for the crew.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 2026.
