ZIM, Seaspan ink charters for LNG-fueled containerships

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services and Atlas Corporation’s wholly owned subsidiary Seaspan Corporation have entered into a strategic agreement for the long-term charter of ten container vessels.

Construction of the vessels will take place at Samsung Heavy Industries. Each will have LNG dual-fuel engines and capacity for 15,000 TEUs.

The vessels will serve ZIM’s Asia-US East Coast trade.
