Trawler Kaldbakur delivered to Samherji

Turkey’s Cemre Shipyard has delivered the newbuild trawler Kaldbakur to Iceland-based owner Samherji.

The vessel was designed by Skipatækni EHF and classed by DNV GL with Ice C class notation.

The main engine is a Yanmar 6EY26W, providing 1,620kW at 750rpm with IMO NOx certificate Tier II. Yanmar also supplied the auxiliary generator set, of 450kWe at 1,200rpm.

Propulsion system is via controllable pitch propeller and gearbox by Caterpillar. With a length of 62.54 metres and beam of 13.50 metres, Kaldbakur has a crew of 17.

She features an ice machine and fish hold cooling system and a full electric-driven deck machinery setup comprising a pair of trawl winches of 35 tonnes each, four 14-tonne sweep line winches, two 20-tonne Gilson winches, two seven-tonne outhaul winches, two 16-tonne cod end winches, a seven-tonne auxiliary winch, and a four-tonne net sounder winch.
