Poland’s Remontowa delivers multi-purpose research vessel

Poland’s Remontowa Shipbuilding has delivered a new multi-purpose research vessel to the Maritime Office in Gdynia.

Zodiak II is the first in a series of two vessels designed to perform hydrographic measurements, towing, oil spill response, icebreaking, buoy maintenance, search and rescue (SAR), firefighting, and limited cargo and personnel transport.

The newbuild has a length of 60 metres, a beam of 13 metres, a draught of 3.5 metres, and diesel-electric propulsion that will deliver a speed of 13 knots.
