Ocean Queen Rockstar delivered to NYC Ferry

Ocean Queen Rockstar has been delivered to NYC Ferry operated by Hornblower, following final installations at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Built by Metal Shark Boats, the 29-metre, 350-passenger vessel will be used for the NYC Ferry’s New York City-Rockaway run, which involves rougher water than the Hudson River and East River routes.

Powered by a pair of Baudouin 12M26.3 P2 main engines rated at 1,000kW each, the vessel operates at a speed of 24 and is capable of a top speed in excess of 30 knots.

The Incat Crowther-designed vessel was ordered in response to unexpected ridership demand the NYC Ferry experienced during its inaugural year.
