MISC takes delivery of first VLEC
Malaysian shipowner MISC has taken delivery of the very large ethane carrier (VLEC) Seri Everest from Samsung Heavy Industries.
With a total cargo capacity of 98,000 cubic metres, the vessel is the first VLEC to be acquired by MISC as well as the lead ship in a series of six ordered from Samsung in July 2020.
Seri Everest and its sisters will be chartered to China’s Zhejiang Satellite Petrochemical (STL) for a firm period of 15 years.
