New rescue boat delivered to Oulu, Finland

Finnish boat builder Arctic Airboats has delivered a new rescue boat for use by the city of Oulu.

The boat measures five by two metres and can accommodate five people. One Suzuki outboard delivers speeds of up to 30 knots.

The boat’s hull is made from high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE), which the builder has claimed possesses chemical-resistant properties that make it ideal for use in oil recovery operations.

The same operator will take delivery of a second near-identical boat upon completion of construction in the coming weeks.
