Bass Strait landing craft John Duigan in Sydney for repairs

Bass Island Line’s (BIL) John Duigan has been required to go into dry dock to repair a damaged stern tube seal, a job expected to take until Friday.

As a result, John Duigan will be out of service until approximately July 6. BIL is also taking this opportunity to bring forward the planned out-of-water survey (once every three years) which was due to be undertaken in December.

BIL has made alternate arrangements to ensure continuity of service for the King Island community. This includes working with shipping agents to coordinate transport of essential freight direct from Victoria and mainland Tasmania.
