The Waco Fire Department in Texas has taken delivery of a custom-built fire and rescue craft from Lake Assault Boats of Superior, Wisconsin.
The 26-foot (7.92-metre) boat is powered by two Honda 225hp (167kW) outboard engines and is equipped with a fire pump rated at 550 gallons per minute (0.03 cubic metres per second) as well as storage racks to hold dive equipment.
The boat will be deployed on emergency response duties on Lake Waco as well as a section of the Brazos River that flows through the fire department’s protection area in central Texas.
