Norfolk rescue charity to get new all-weather lifeboat

Norfolk, UK-based marine rescue charity Caister Lifeboat has placed an order for a new all-weather vessel.

The 14-metre boat will be designed by Walker Marine Design and will be built at the Isle of Wight facilities of Diverse Marine. It will have an aluminium hull, a fully enclosed FRP wheelhouse, and a designated survivors area.

The boat will also have self-righting ability and two Scania DI13-077 engines driving Hamilton HJ364 waterjets to deliver a maximum speed in excess of 35 knots.

The vessel will be delivered in 2022.
