Focus on Offshore Oil and Gas Operations

The lineup of vessel reviews as part of this month’s focus on the offshore industry includes crewboats, a standby vessel, and a general support workboat. One of the crewboats uses the ever-familiar catamaran hull designs while the other is a wave-piercing monohull with a significant carrying capacity and an advanced transfer system suitable for use under even challenging offshore conditions.

Meanwhile, an operator in the UK recently expanded its fleet of vessels with the acquisition of a Dutch-designed newbuild optimised for renewables support duties off the south-west English coast.
The last vessel to be reviewed is a Chinese-built standby vessel for a Scotland-based operator. It is the final one in a series of three that are also designed for other roles including dry bulk transport, oil recovery, firefighting, and rescue towing.
