Americraft Marine, a maritime subsidiary of international conglomerate the Libra Group, has acquired St. John’s Ship Building (SJSB), a full-service marine facility specialising in constructing and repairing Jones Act-compliant vessels including those used to service offshore wind turbines.

The shipyard located in Palatka near Jacksonville is also one of the few US shipyards that builds vessels that support and service offshore wind farms. The company also undertakes construction and repair of a wide variety of steel and aluminium vessels including ferries, tugs, deck and tank barges, landing craft, and general cargo vessels.

The acquired facilities from SJSB include a storm-protected 100-acre (40-hectare) inland campus and an 850-ton (770-tonne) floating dry dock.
