Indian yard launches first in new dry cargo vessel series for Norway's Wilson
Udupi CSL, a subsidiary of India's Cochin Shipyard, has launched the first vessel in a series of 3,800DWT cargo ships ordered from the company by Norwegian shipowner Wilson.
Upon completion, the vessel will measure 89.43 metres long and 13.2 metres wide. It will be operated on Wilson's shortsea routes in Europe.
Design work on the vessel was provided by Dutch naval architecture firm Conoship International.
Germany's Carsten Rehder selects Indian builder for new multi-purpose carrier
German shipping company Carsten Rehder Schiffsmakler und Reederei has awarded Indian state-owned shipyard Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) a contract for the construction of a new multi-purpose cargo vessel.
The 7,500DWT vessel will belong to a series of eight that GRSE is building for the same owner. Upon completion, it will have a length of 120 metres, a beam of 17 metres, and a draught of 6.75 metres.
The vessel will be able to transport general cargo, bulk cargo, project cargo, and containers.
COSCO Shipping welcomes 7,000CEU car carrier to fleet
China’s COSCO Shipping Special Transport recently welcomed a new pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) into service.
Xiangjiangkou ("Xiangjiang Estuary") belongs to a series that also includes Peony Leader and Ganjiangkou. All three ships were built by Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) and are owned by CITIC Financial Leasing.
Chinese yard launches Briese Group's newest multi-purpose cargo carrier
Chinese shipbuilder Taizhou Sanfu Heavy Industry has launched the newest vessel in a series of a series of 15 triple-deck ships built to transport bulk, heavy lift, and project cargo.
As with earlier sister ships BBC Leer, BBC Genoa, BBC Houston, BBC Dubai and BBC Santiago, BBC Singapore will be operated under a long-term time charter with Briese subsidiary BBC Chartering for worldwide trading.
Vertom Group takes delivery of first 6,000DWT cargo ship in series
Dutch shipping company the Vertom Group has taken delivery of the first unit in a new series of shortsea cargo vessels ordered from Indian shipbuilder Chowgule and Company.
The 6,000DWT Vertom Rita belongs to a series of 12 ships that are smaller variants of another 7,000DWT series being built for Vertom by Dutch shipbuilder Thecla Bodewes.
