Norwegian seafood company Selvåg Senior has placed an order for a new hybrid pelagic catcher to be designed by a partnership led by Skipsteknisk.

The vessel, which will also be named Selvåg Senior, will have a length of 80 metres and a main engine that could operate on either battery power or LNG.

Delivery of Selvåg Senior is scheduled for 2023 upon completion at an unnamed Norwegian shipyard. The newbuilding will replace a similarly named 1999-built vessel that is currently operating with the owner’s fleet.
