Fincantieri Marinette Marine (FMM) of Wisconsin has opened a new facility that will offer improvements to the company’s overall steel preparation, manufacturing, and assembling capacities.
The 32,000-square-foot (2,972-square-metre) facility will be used to prepare raw steel plates for the construction of the US Navy’s Constellation-class frigates.
The construction of the steel preparation facility was carried out with the support of local contractor Miron Construction.
