Sembcorp Marine Repairs and Upgrades has been contracted to install a sulphur oxide (SOx) scrubber unit on Japan’s largest cruise ship, the 241- by 29-metre Asuka II, to comply with new environmental regulations that will come into effect next year.

The refit of the NYK Cruises vessel will be executed over a span of 45 days beginning in January 2020.
