CoCo Yachts to design new fast ferry for Xiamen-Jinmen route

CoCo Yachts has been awarded a contract to design a new fast ferry for Chinese operator Xiamen Marine Passenger and Tourist Transportation Group.

The aluminium vessel will be designed and built in accordance with China Classification Society Rules 2017 and will operate between the cities of Xiamen and Jinmen. It will have an LOA of 43 metres, a beam of 10.8 metres, a draught of 1.3 metres, and two MTU 16V2000M72 engines that will deliver a service speed of 25 knots.

The ferry will also have 210 economy-class seats, 135 business-class seats, five VIP seats, and a crew of 12.

Construction will take place at the Zhuhai facilities of Plenty Shipbuilding Industry.
