Senegalese operator orders fast crewboat

Rendering of a new fast crewboat ordered by Oil Senegal Support Services

Oil Senegal Support Services, a Senegal-based operator of offshore support vessels (OSVs), has placed an order for a new fast catamaran crewboat that will support the activities of clients in the country’s offshore energy sector.

The aluminium-hulled vessel will be capable of transporting 28 service personnel as well as 20 tonnes of cargo at speeds of up to 33.5 knots.

The air-conditioned cabin on the main deck will feature spacious and comfortable seating as well as a medical suite, two toilets, and dedicated luggage holds. The main cabin will also contain a refreshment kiosk and large television screens for safety briefings.

Each of the two catamaran hulls will feature two berths for the vessel’s crew in addition to toilets complete with shower facilities.

A large 62-square-metre foredeck will have a dedicated, enclosed cargo area and a crew transfer crane. An ultra-high performance bow fender will help optimise safety when transferring personnel to and from platforms in open ocean conditions.

Delivery is scheduled for 2025.
