Van Oord's newest installation vessel Boreas arrives in Netherlands

Van Oord’s new offshore installation vessel Boreas has arrived in the Netherlands after a voyage of almost 14,700 nautical miles from China.

Outfitting and finishing will take place in the Netherlands, where the vessel will be christened before embarking on its first offshore wind project.

Petrobras-chartered FPSO arrives in Brazil's Mero Field

After leaving China in December 2024, the floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) Alexandre de Gusmão arrived at the Mero field, Libra block, in the Santos Basin off Brazil on Monday, March 3.

Petrobras, which chartered the FPSO from SBM Offshore, expects it to start operating between the second and third quarters of 2025.

New Chinese crane vessel to work on first project

A new large crane vessel owned by Chinese company Huaxia Financial Leasing departed the Port of Nantong earlier this week to work on its inaugural project following delivery.

Built by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC), Huaxia Kunpeng 01 is the first in a series of two crane vessels designed and built in compliance with China Classification Society rules including those that cover unlimited navigation areas.

Design selected for future walk-to-work vessel to be built in Singapore

Kongsberg Maritime will supply the design and integrated equipment package for a new walk-to-work offshore service vessel (OSV) that will be built by ST Engineering Marine in Singapore for an undisclosed oil and gas company.

The 97-metre OSV will be able to accommodate 106 people and will feature a motion-compensated gangway to enable safe transfer of personnel to and from offshore installations. Space will be available for a helicopter deck, an offshore crane, and cargo including ISO containers on the aft deck.

NR Marine's newest crewboat hits the water

UK boatbuilder Diverse Marine has floated out NR Rebellion, the newest crewboat in a series ordered by local operator NR Marine Services.

Like its earlier sister NR Rival, NR Rebellion has an LOA of 25 metres and will be fitted with a quad IPS system to give it a top speed of over 30 knots. A transom-mounted hull vane will offer efficient fuel consumption at cruising speeds.

First steel cut for new hybrid electric SOV for North Star

India's Cochin Shipyard has cut the first steel to be used in the construction of a new service operation vessel (SOV) ordered by UK operator the North Star Group.

Upon completion, the hybrid electric vessel will be operated under a long-term charter with German energy company EnBW at the He Dreiht offshore wind farm in the North Sea.
