Kongsberg Maritime will supply the design and integrated equipment package for a new walk-to-work offshore service vessel (OSV) that will be built by ST Engineering Marine in Singapore for an undisclosed oil and gas company.

The 97-metre OSV will be able to accommodate 106 people and will feature a motion-compensated gangway to enable safe transfer of personnel to and from offshore installations. Space will be available for a helicopter deck, an offshore crane, and cargo including ISO containers on the aft deck.

Kongsberg Maritime said the vessel will be designed for oil and gas operations and will have a greater endurance of up to nine weeks away from shore, compared to an industry standard of four weeks for commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs).

The OSV will utilise a variant of an existing Kongsberg Maritime CSOV design with accommodation for up to 120 personnel in 90 cabins and facilities for supporting operations at offshore wind farms.
