Fugro to conduct monopile foundation surveys for Cadeler off UK

Starting in early 2027, a work-class ROV deployed from Cadeler's installation vessel will verify foundations at the 960MW East Anglia Two wind farm. The contract adds post-installation work to the alignment support Fugro already provides at Hornsea Three.

Cadeler has contracted Fugro to conduct seabed surveys after installation at the 960MW East Anglia Two offshore wind farm in the UK.

From early 2027, Fugro will deploy a work-class remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to inspect 64 monopile foundation locations. The ROV will be launched from a Cadeler installation vessel.

The surveys are intended to confirm that the foundations have been installed as planned.

Fugro said the data gathered will support verification of installation quality and assessment of the foundations' long-term integrity.

The award extends work Fugro already performs for Cadeler at the Hornsea Three wind farm. At that project, Fugro specialists aboard Wind Ally are supporting the installation of 197 monopile foundations by continuously measuring monopile tilt, inclination and vertical alignment.

Cadeler holds the transportation and installation contracts for all 64 turbines and their foundations at East Anglia Two. The company will carry out the campaign using Wind Ace alongside another vessels.

The wind farm is being developed by ScottishPower Renewables, part of the Iberdrola Group. The site lies in the southern North Sea, approximately 33 kilometres off the coast of Suffolk.

Commercial operation is targeted for late 2028.
