Offshore specialised vessels continue positive trend at STX Europe

STX Europe reported an EBITDA result US$16.9 million for the third quarter of 2009, up from US$7.93 million in the corresponding period last year.

Offshore specialised vessels showed continued progress in the quarter with an EBITDA result of US$28.72 million, which was an improvement from the US$14.8 million loss in the corresponding period last year.

During the third quarter STX Europe delivered five vessels reflecting a good operational performance. Order intake in the quarter was US$70.47 million, resulting in an order backlog at the end of the first nine months of 2009 comprising 54 vessels.

During the first nine months of 2009, STX Europe had revenues of US$3.8 billion, a slight decrease from the corresponding period last year.

STX Europe delivered a total of five vessels in third quarter. The order intake was US$840 million year to date September, compared with US$1.55 billion in the corresponding period last year.
