Windstar Cruises ship completes refit in Italy

Seattle-based Windstar Cruises has welcomed the vessel Star Legend back into its fleet following a refit at the facilities of Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri.

The vessel had its hull considerably lengthened to accommodate an additional 50 suites, thus increasing the guest capacity from 212 to 312. Other modifications include two new restaurants, a renovated spa and fitness centre, a larger top deck pool and hot tub area, an expanded outdoor deck, more efficient engines and diesel generators, and increased deck space for two new 90-passenger tenders that will ferry guests to and from port.

Star Legend will resume operational sailings with Windstar on September 4 this year via a British Isles round-trip itinerary that will sail out of London.
