Taiwan navy’s second Min Jiang-class minelayer enters service

The Republic of China Navy (RoCN) recently commissioned a new fast minelaying vessel into service.

FMLB-2 is the second Min Jiang-class minelayer to be built for the RoCN by local shipyard Lung Teh. The vessel measures 41 by 8.8 metres and has a maximum speed of 14 knots.

In addition to automatic minelaying equipment, the vessel’s armament includes a 20-millimetre autocannon and 5.56-millimetre light machine guns.
